(1965) **
Another in an assembly line of forgotten exploitation movies dug up and released by Something Weird Video, The Beast That Killed Women is purely a shameless showcase for breasts and bare bottoms. Geared towards "adult" 60's moviegoers looking for a little titillation, the movie takes place at a nudist colony in Miami where a determined young woman pursues the ever-elusive perfect tan. Most of the movie consists of a stationary camera recording nudes swimming, playing volleyball, talking and undressing in the locker room.
The "beast" referred to in the title is, unsurprisingly, a guy in a gorilla suit and he turns out to be nothing more than a minor nuisance. He briefly disrupts the breastivities and manages to kill one hapless female. This causes a bit of chaos in the nudist community but it's nothing to get too worked up over. The beast is quickly disposed of, allowing for the continuation of naked, carefree frolicking until the credits roll. It's a campy time capsule that could only have been created in the mid 1960's.
There is little left to say other than the dialog leaves much to be desired. Much of it is difficult to decipher due to the poor audio but the conversations you can make out are hardly worth paying any attention to anyway.

"Are you sure it was a gorilla?" "I'm positive because it stood up like a man!" |
